Best Present Ideas for Someone Special
Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, christmas or just a special occasion, finding good present ideas isn't
always easy.
So, here's a few creative tips for finding great gifts for your guy, or romantic gifts for your wife or
girlfriend.
Ideas for Homemade Romantic Gifts
If you're looking to make something creative, or need a cheap present, then a hand made gift is a
great choice - with the time and love you put in likely to be appreciated by your loved one.
Finding the right gift for the one you love sometimes involves
a little more than just a trip to the mall. As a matter of fact, you’ve probably been down that road before.
You’ve scoured all his or her favorite stores, finally realizing that she doesn’t need another sweater nor
does he need another set of tools.
Instead, why not make a gift that your spouse or
girlfriend/boyfriend will long remember? Something that comes from the heart, not from a store.
While it might involve stepping out of your comfort zone a bit,
making a romantic homemade gift can be ideal for any holiday. Not only Valentine’s Day but also
anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, or Mother’s or Father’s Day, and is likely to save a little money as
well. It can also be great if you're on a tight budget too!
To create your own gift - base it around their special interests, tastes and hobbies. For a woman,
how about putting together a CD of her favorite songs from iTunes, a photo album of family & friends, or for
that someone special, a memories book with tickets, photos and writing about special times together.
For the guy who loves to play chef in the kitchen, how about sewing him a special manly apron, treating him to a
special massage or his favorite home cooked meal.
5 Homemade Romantic Gifts to
Make
Here are a few ideas that just about anyone can
accomplish:-
1. Create a video
In these days of advanced technology, the idea of writing a
love letter is passé. Instead, romantic types can make a video that allows them to express their love on
screen. The video can be as long or as short as you wish.
It can include personal sentiments written by you,
reminiscences of times spent together, a favorite song or two, or some clips of past videos or photos of the
two of you together. It can be delivered via snail mail (be sure to package it carefully) or can be sent to
the intended recipient by email. Either way, it’ll be a pleasant surprise.
Similarly, you can make a Power Point presentation that
includes slides and written messages as well.
2. Design a Memory Book
If you’ve been together for a long time, this is a great gift
as it can ultimately include many pages and you can continue to add to it each year.
Using scrapbook items or similar materials, assemble a page for
each memory you’d like to recall – a first date, engagement, wedding, honeymoon, birth of your children, a
landmark anniversary, a special vacation.
Place them in an ornate scrapbook or decorate a three-ring
binder and put the pages inside. Use things like ticket stubs, invitations, photos, and other items you’ve
kept as memories.
For a personal touch, write a message or poem and include it on
the front cover or as one of the pages.
3. Create Your Own In-House Spa
Don’t have money to spend to treat your love to a day at the
spa? That’s okay. You can make your own spa at home and treat him/her to several relaxing and sensuous
treatments. Cover the bed with clean white sheets and make it your own massage table. Purchase scented oils
or lotions for the massage and decorate the room with soft light and candles. Choose some favorite music for
a little background ambience. You can also perform a relaxing and invigorating facial (most people enjoy
having their face caressed) and offer a relaxing soak in a tub filled with rose petals or bubble bath. Also
offer him/her a refreshing fruit drink and/or light snack. Who knows how the night will end?
4. Make a Snow Globe
Many people collect snow globes, but even if your loved one
doesn’t, she’ll/he’ll still be touched by this gift.
Making a snow globe isn’t difficult and you can use just about
any theme you’d like to create your gift. Inside, you can put a laminated photo of the two of you or some
sort of ornament or figurine that has special meaning to the two of you.
You can also add a small banner with names and/or a date.
Purchase ribbon or other items to decorate the base as well. To assemble the snow globe, look for specific
directions on the internet or at a craft store.
5. Send “secret” love messages
Purchase a stack of 3x5 cards. Write a message on each. The
sentiment can be as simple as “I love you” or as complex as a famous love poem that reminds you or
him/her.
Or draw your loved one a picture if you’re artistically
inclined or paste a photo of a favorite moment on the card. Put these love reminders in a variety of
different places where your significant other is likely to find them – the cereal box, his briefcase, her
purse, the medicine cabinet.
Start placing them a few days before the official occasion, be
it a birthday, anniversary, or Valentine’s Day. When he/she thinks they’ve found them all, hide one more with a
special message – perhaps an invitation for a special date or a weekend away…alone.
