Ideas for A Romantic Valentines Day

Valentines Date Ideas - How To Romance Her

Looking for romantic or cute date ideas ?

Whether it's that first date, or a special occasion, or even when you're considering asking her to marry you - it'll need to be something romantic that'll sweep her off her feet.

Valentine’s Day. Some people love it, others dread it. And for every woman who’s thrilled with what her man has cooked up for this February holiday, there are just as many who are disappointed that he didn’t take more time to think about planning something special.

If you’re one of those men who says “I love you every day, why should Valentine’s Day be special?” it’s time to reorganize your thoughts and get creative.

Women want to be pampered and showered with attention on Valentine’s Day and a little planning will go a long way in keeping her happy!

Traditional Dates with a Twist

It’s okay to opt for traditional Valentine dates, like dinner and a movie, if you take time to be a little imaginative when you’re making plans for the evening.

Many couples go out to eat often, for example, so it’s no big deal unless you make it that way.

First of all, choose a location that is romantic in itself. Is there a restaurant in your town that overlooks the water or one that has a warm, cozy fireplace inside? Then make your plans early and request a table by the window or one beside the fire. (Remember, early planning is essential as other “romantics” will be thinking about the same things!) When you pick her up in your car, open and close the door for her and place a single red rose on her seat. Keep a CD full of love songs playing on the stereo for the ride to the restaurant and ask her about her day. Be sure to turn off the cell phone and other distractions! After dinner, take a romantic drive and consider booking a room at a pretty B&B or inn for the night. Kids at home? YOU make the babysitting arrangements before the date arrives and you’ll be her ultimate hero!

Movies are fun but they’re so much more romantic at home, where you can snuggle in private and enjoy something more than overpriced popcorn and a soft drink.

Earlier that day, head to the video store and rent a romantic movie. It can be vintage – such as Wuthering Heights, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Casablanca, or An Affair to Remember – or can be something a bit more contemporary, like Ghost, Dirty Dancing, An Officer and a Gentleman, Shakespeare in Love, or Titanic.

For refreshments, opt for a great bottle of wine or champagne and some sexy finger food you can feed each other, like grapes and strawberries.

And if you’re a really great planner, you’ll have the bedroom ready with candles and rose petals strewn about!

A Romantic Day Out

If you’re lucky enough to have a flexible schedule, make Valentine’s Day more than just a few hours together. What could be more romantic than a whole day dedicated to her? In these days when most of us need more than 24 hours in a day to complete our tasks, taking a day out for you and your love is truly a treat.

When planning the day, consider her likes…not yours.

You may need to stretch a little outside your comfort zone, but it’ll be worth it. For example, she may enjoy a day at the spa. Most spas offer special packages for couples visiting together.

If you’ve never been to a spa before, embrace the new experience and you’ll likely love it! And going to a spa together is a great way to feel more comfortable if it’s your first visit. Many spas have couples’ suites with two tables where the two of you can enjoy this pampering together.

If it’s an upscale spa in a hotel, for example, the room may be even more elaborate, with a fireplace and comfy chairs where you can relax after your treatments.

Day spas offer specially priced packages that include several treatments and sometimes lunch at the spa cafe. If you’re in a small town, you may have to travel to the city to find a spa, but that’ll make the day even more enjoyable as you can devote some time to exploring.

If she enjoys arts and culture, take her to her favorite museum or check out some she’s never visited.

This is a great inexpensive date but she’ll love it, especially if you don’t usually accompany her on such outings.

Afterwards, take her to dinner and then to a coffee shop or quiet club where there’s entertainment. (Keep it low-key and stay out of the noisy establishments!)

Keep your eye open for things like romantic poetry readings, which often occur near Valentine’s Day.

Out of the Ordinary Date Ideas

If you’re a couple that enjoys adventure and the outdoors, choose an activity that exudes romance, like ice skating on a pond (be sure to hold hands!) or canoeing on a quiet lake (depending on where you live, of course).

You can also rent a bicycle built for two and take a ride around your favorite park and stop for a picnic lunch. If you’re in a colder climate, enjoy an afternoon of sledding followed by dinner by the fire, or build a snowman under the moonlight. A little snow ball fight can lead to a lot of romance!

If you’re especially daring and don’t have a problem with heights, consider something ultra-romantic, like a ride in a hot air balloon at dawn, complete with a champagne breakfast served on board. Your relationship will reach new heights!
